Who We Are: Founded in 1979, RTG has grown from its single-client one-consultant base to its present size as a nationally known training and consulting firm with billings in seven figures. From offices in the Kansas City and St. Louis metropolitan areas, founder Paul Russell works with Ken Cooper and Anita Marx to lead a growing RTG consultants, trainers and technology innovators in their efforts on behalf of well known brands and corporate names. For Pepsi-Cola, RTG is in its nineteenth consecutive year consulting on bottler community training in the areas of harassment and discrimination prevention, sales, negotiations, marketing and management techniques and strategies and organizational structure. For individual Pepsi-Cola bottlers, the company has trained supervisors and sales staffs along with assisting in the formulation of marketing strategies and retailer relationship-building tactics. We have been continuously at Pepsi’s side since 1985. For the world’s largest brewer, RTG people played key roles in transforming wholesalers from distributors to impactful sales organizations. In that effort, both profitability and market share soared for both the brewery and for wholesalers. (Ask any Miller or Coors distributor and they’ll tell you all about their difficulty competing in the marketplace over the last decade). RTG trained both brewery field sales personnel, nation accounts personnel and wholesaler management teams in selling skills, management strategy and tactics, customer service strategy formulation and execution and cultural change. “Vehicle Cockpit Training Delivery” was pioneered for this client. Wholesalers watched us on a private satellite network and the brewery’s field sales force listened to us on a custom –in-house audio newsletter called Up2Date. Paul began working with the brewery in 1987; Ken in 1976. And, Anita hired both of them while she ran the brewery’s Wholesaler Training Division, then called Beer Marketing Management Development. For UBS (the recent acquirer of PaineWebber), RTG is, and has been, the sole US provider of training entitled "Eliminating Sexual Harassment from Our Workplace," since the merger of Union Bank of Switzerland and Swiss Bank Corporation created the global financial giant. Each and every manager and supervisor at the bank’s offices in New York City, Stamford, Boston, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston and Dallas has attended or will attend this training. Managers offer universal rave reviews to the training. Paul Russell regularly provides one-on-one management coaching to key Managing Director and above personnel. RTG also provides training to the bank’s managers, many of them from outside the United States, entitled ‘Managing Within US Law.’ Recently RTG took on training efforts for the ‘Retaining Our Best’ initiative and is presenting key employee retention strategy training for UBS. Executive coaching for global inpats and even global training at the UBS conference center in Zurich round out our support for the world’s second largest bank. Our nearly decade long relationship is thriving. For MasterCard International, RTG created strategy in partnering with key bank members, sales tactics, negotiations, and sales management. RTG created the MasterCard Preventing Sexual Harassment/Discrimination in the Workplace program, which was presented to every US region employee. "We haven't had a lawsuit since," said their top employment lawyer. Also, RTG was the creator and presenter of the corporate Performance Planning curriculum, sales strategies and advanced sales strategies. For Ace Hardware, RTG implemented training for retailers in marketing strategy, people management, risk avoidance, harassment and discrimination prevention and selling strategy via the Retail Owner's Institute. For Colgate
Palmolive's Hill's Pet Food Division, RTG trained the entire
field sales force in both the United States and Canada in retail
profitability strategies and tactics. For Hi-Cone,
RTG created the PARTNER training system, taught across the United
States and across Europe. |
